A trip to the barber

I always look forward to a trip to the barber when I visit Dalyan.  Hygiene and self care have a long tradition in Türkiye and is firmly a part of their culture.  Thus, when visiting the barber you are participating in a ritual rich with heritage and expertise.  I was introduced to Aydemir Berber by a Turkish friend and make a point of visiting at least once each trip.  It has never cost me more than $7.50aud for a shave (currently 150tl in Jan 2024), and is some of the best money I spend while away!  I have very reactive skin, and each of the 5 gentlemen who have shaved me over the years have never left me with any irritation.  Your barber is very attentive, and your service will differ each time according to your requirement.  For example, each time I have had a 2 pass straight razor shave, 2 applications of old school soap applied with a badger brush, 2 applications of aftershave, face wash, after shave balm, face massage, neck massage.  On different occasions I have also enjoyed clipper trimming of sideburns and neckline, fire removal of hair in ears or check, wax removal of hair on cheek, thread removal of hair on cheek, nose hair trim, eyebrow trim or threading, and of course… tea!  You will enjoy an extremely through experience, and in my opinion an essential one.  Once tried, you’ll ensure it’s one of the first things on your list for next time!
